Hey! I’m Alexandria and I’m so excited to work with you here in the CSRA! I specialize in helping people that struggle with feeling stuck and frustrated with where they are in a situation, feeling overwhelmed by depression or anxiety, or figuring out life’s direction. I also love to work with couples to help them learn to communicate better, solve problems, and find their way after infidelity or betrayal. I will challenge the negative thoughts and behaviors that are holding you back. Additionally, I will empower you by teaching the tools needed to tackle issues with confidence so you can flourish in your daily life. I offer a non-judgmental and supportive environment where one can feel safe to share. I have a relatable style that is engaging, professional, and respectful. Alexandria M. Horton is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS) in Augusta, GA and has been working in the mental health field for over 10 years. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Tennessee State University and a Masters Degree in Professional Counseling from Georgia State University.
Alexandria began her career working with at-risk youth in juvenile detention centers and alternative school programs. She then worked as a mental health clinician, eventually becoming the Outpatient Coordinator, at a Community Service Board in Middle Georgia. There she managed the clinical staff and daily operations of the multi-site comprehensive behavioral health program serving individuals dealing with an array of issues. Most recently, Alexandria has been supporting military service members and their families. As the spouse of a military veteran, she knows firsthand the unique concerns and stressors associated with living a military lifestyle
Alexandria opened her private practice, Be Intentional Counseling & Consulting, LLC, in early 2018. She is using her extensive experience working with diverse individuals and couples to address a variety of issues including: pre-marital counseling, communication, infidelity, break-up/divorce recovery, parenting, depression, anxiety, grief, adjustment, military life, anger, career concerns/transitions, self-esteem, assertiveness training, and stress management. She has a passion for empowering her clients by helping them cultivate the skills necessary to help them not only manage, but flourish in their daily lives.
